- 1998 Clean Pesticide Container Recycling Program
For the eighth consecutive year, the Clean Pesticide Container Recycling Program will make
its way around the state this fall.Twelve grinding sites have been selected throughout
Missouri, where clean pesticide containers will be collected and ground into chips.
Federal law requires that empty containers be properly rinsed which allows the containers
to qualify as non-hazardous waste and be recycled. The Clean Pesticide Container Recycling
Program is administered by the Missouri Ag Industries Council (Mo-Ag) in cooperation with
the Missouri DNR, chemical manufacturers, Farmland Industries, MFA Incorporated, Mark
Twain Water Quality Initiative, and agrochemical dealers statewide. For more
information or to locate a participating dealer, contact MO-Ag at (573) 636-6130.
