Cooper County Road & Bridge Department

Maintenance and repair to our roads is being enhanced by more favorable weather conditions.   County road crews have hauled and spread over 4000 tons of rock on county roads since January 1, 2005.  Since the last week of February all graders have been working with few exceptions. The weight of our current graders (approx 17 tons) can damage roads during rainy periods, particularly on road shoulders.  If frozen, roads maintained end up being damaged by chunks of rock and dirt being broken loose from the road surface or shoulders.  If frozen solid, blading cannot be done. For more information on Cooper County Highlights, please visit our website at www.mo-river.net and click on “Government”.
