ADAMS - SOWERS CEMETERY
Location:
"On the western side of Clear Creek Township is found the Sowers Cemetery - as it
is known today; it isn't very large, but has a good fence around it. But it is overgrown
with tall weeds, not now.
The inscription on a stone there shows that Ignatius Adams died Oct. 13, 1846, and
close by is a rock marking another grave, though there is no inscription on it. Another
marker which is rather odd is made of natural rock with letters chiseled on it about an
inch high; it can be read from some distance as the letters are very clear. The
inscription on this one is "Francis Adams, died April 23, 1850". Excerpt from
the article: "Clear Creek Township is Interesting Area of County" by Mrs. Hayes,
Correspondent for Boonville Daily News."
