The residence
was built for Bill and Ellen Shephard of the Shephard Mercantile Company in
1904. On the exterior, the
structure has a two-story chamfered bay on the northwest.
On the northeast is a one-story porch with a pediment and turned posts. Frame steps with an iron railing lead to a second story
apartment entrance at the northwest corner.
On the southwest corner is a one-story porch, and on the southeast is an
enclosed porch and basement entrance. Bulls’
eye medallion remain along the raking cornices.
There is a 3-car brick tile garage on the southwest corner of the lot
which is shared with 708 E. High. It
has a gable roof and access from the alley to the south.
