611 E. High

This home was originally built for Charles Hoffmeister, a local saloon owner and operator, in 1896.  It is characteristic of the Queen Anne style in plan.  The one-story porch is pedimented.  A two-story polygonal bay projects from the southwest corner.  The entrance is a double leaf with a transom.  There is an entrance with a pent roofed porch on the east and a one-story frame addition on the northeast corner.  A total restoration project was begun in 1985.  A gable roof, single car frame garage is to the east of the residence.
