June 19, 1998

Members Present: Tim Nadeau, Art Schneider, Harry Stone, Bill Sullivan, Betty Vollmer, Ginger Wenger
Others Present: JoAnn Sullivan, John Ernst of Boonslick Industries.
Call to Order: Ginger Wenger called the meeting to order at 10:40 a.m.
Additional Items: Added Darlene Kraus, Front Page 98 Training, Social for Potential Members at David Barton School, Boonville Heritage Days, Promotional Banner.
Minutes: No discussion.
Treasurer's Report: Art Schneider reported Mo-River.Net has $447.87 in its account. There are 19 members and four corporate sponsors to date. Mo-River.Net received $100 reimbursement for delegate fees to the State CIN Conference. Expenses were $57 for fargo sheets for Mo-River.Net logos at public access points and $15 to secretary of state for annual report.
OLD BUSINESS
Maintenance Committee Recommendations:
1. Calendar Program: No progress on calendar program for Mo-River.Net as of yet. Bill Sullivan will contact Marty Tichenor at the Correctional Center to see if he has a program and Darin Starr will be asked to contact other CINs to see what programs they are using. Requests for information to be put on the calendar should be in writing, e-mail or fax.
2. Each board member should chair a committee, made up of volunteers, to be responsible for a certain portion of the Mo-River.Net site. Below are members appointed to chair the committees, Initially, checking of URLs for accuracy and then working to develop the pages (See 3).

Reference - Ginger WengerBoard members assigned committees are asked to report on their activities at the July meeting.
3. Each committee should develop a process for monitoring its share of the site. Material should be updated every 6 months. If no changes are need, the date can be changed to show update. A warning system needs to be put in place. When warnings are ignored and a site is not updated, it should be deleted from Mo-River.Net.
4. Develop written guidelines for web pages, remembering to keep it family oriented, but not saying as much, in order not to jeopardize some medical sites, which may be explicit. Art Schneider to check with other Missouri CIN's on their policies and send to Nick Clark Nick Clark appointed to prepare suggested policy statement.
5. Develop a list of professional web masters in the area, without recommending any of them. University Outreach & Extension is beginning this and some information already is on the web.

NEW BUSINESS
Ordering Front Page 98 Software for Web: At this time Bill Wood and
the Boonville Chamber would like to order through Mo-River.Net. Minimum order for
discount is five, so further action was tabled.
County-Based Committees to Develop Linkages and Pages for the Counties: Tabled.
Nominations Committee for Officers: (Officers are elected in August and take office in September): Tabled to July Meeting.
Sports Subject Matter Page: Betty moved, Tim seconded and board approved adding sports page to the nine already established. Bill Sullivan will discuss putting team results/standings with Boonville Daily News sports editor. No director assigned to chair committee for this page.
Meet in Howard or Saline County in July: Board scheduled next meeting for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17, at Central Methodist Southwestern Bell Telecommunications Community Center (in library on east middle side of campus).
Darlene Kraus: Ginger Wenger noted the contributions of Darlene Kraus to the Mo-River.Net effort. The board with unanimous consensus wants to recognize Darlene Kraus for the extraordinary effort that she has made in developing pages and putting links onto Mo-River.Net. The board recognizes she has made a significant and substantial contribution to the viability of Mo-River.Net.
Front Page 98: By consensus the board requests that the Central Methodist SW Bell TCC offer a training program on Front Page 98. The secretary was directed to contact Jeff Maddy on this.
Social for Potential Members at David Barton School: Board members are developing a list of names, addresses, phone numbers to be contacted and invited to a social at David Barton School in Cooper County and other sites in Howard and Saline counties to generate awareness and develop a volunteer corp to further Mo-River.Net's informational and educational mission. Board members are asked to bring possible names, addresses and phone numbers to the next meeting.
Boonville Heritage Days: Cooper County board members were asked about staffing a Mo-River.Net section at the Chamber booth. Two people to staff were requested. Volunteers on June 27 from 9 a.m. to Noon will be Betty Vollmer, noon to 4 p.m. will be Bill Wood, and all day will be Harry Stone. Bill Sullivan will check with Pat Jackson on updating and/or using brochure prepared for last year.
Promotional Banner: After considerable discussion about a banner for use at various events in the three-county Mo-River.Net area, Art moved and Tim seconded that up to $100 be allocated for a 4' by 6' banner. Bill Sullivan will make the banner arrangements.
