Marshall Public Library

 Members Present: Darin Starr, president, and Jene Crook.

No formal meeting was held. Darin Starr came prepared to demonstrate the types of computer aides he uses to offer classes in the use of the internet, e-mail, and web pages. He presented those briefly. He also demonstrated the calendar page he is maintaining for the University Extension service in the Saline County area. He is using a simple Word document format with a separate page for each month. Each entry in the calendar that can be is linked to other source materials. Darin feels that this format is simpler to work with because there aren't any constraints related to the small boxes typical of many calendars. The information about an activity can be as long or as short as the event requires, and it is relatively simple to delete activities that have passed.

The other business item discussed related to the next board meeting. If we continue using the schedule tentatively developed, the next meeting would be held in Fayette on the third Thursday evening of February. A definite time and place will need to be determined.
