Board Members Attending: JoAnn Sullivan - Chair, Darin Starr – Secretary/Treasurer, Bill Sullivan, David Haun, Harry Stone, Art Schneider. Guest attending: Harry Pinney
Meeting called to order by Chair JoAnn Sullivan
Darin reported that he has the minutes from July through December ready to be posted to the web but due to a computer upgrade he has lost his user name and password to access the Mo-River.net site.
Darin provide the Treasurer’s report. Current Checkbook balance is $728.82. Expenses paid since the last meeting included a payment of $45 to the Boonville Chamber of Commerce.
Webpage Contest: No WebPages have been submitted at this time. With the submission of subject deadline passed it is doubtful if any WebPages will be submitted this year. There was a discussion to if this should continue and be held another year or not. David mentioned that if we want to have the contest next year we should go ahead and set the dates and notify schoolteachers and publicize the contest starting in September 2002. Art mentioned contacting the school’s superintendent by e-mail to find out who is the technology teacher for the schools so we may contact the teachers directly. Art moved that the dates for the 2003 WebPage Contest be set at January 17 for subject approval, April 18 for completed WebPage submission and board voting on winner May 16, 2003. Motion was seconded and passed.
New Comer Distribution: Brochures and calendar cards are being handed out by the Boonville Welcome Wagon for no charge. JoAnn will ask Harry if a thank you letter would be in order.
New ideas: JoAnn mentioned if we should add a webpage identifying volunteer opportunities to the Mo-River.net pages, same as we have for area job opportunities. Darin mentioned that we could add information for charitable giving to the same site. Art moved that we create this web site and add to Mo-River.net. Motion seconded and passed. JoAnn and Darin will begin gathering information to create such a webpage.
Art moved that we split the Art and Tourism page as this information has gotten too big for just one webpage. Motion was seconded and passed.
Bill noted that there are several hyperlinks to businesses in Saline County that are no longer working. This has occurred do to a local ISP going out of business. Darin will check into this.
Darin moved to adjourn the meeting. Motion seconded and passed.
Meeting adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
Respectfully Submitted by
Darin Starr
