Treasurer’s Report: Accepted and filed for reference as presented.

NEW BUSINESS:

Purchase Computer: After some considerable discussion, Bill Sullivan moved, and David Haun 2d motion to buy a computer and monitor for the purpose of facilitating the Stipend Volunteer to work on MRN. Motion passed.

Treasurer: Art Schneider moved and Bill Sullivan 2d motion to elect Stan Serck to membership on the Board of Directors, and to the office of Treasurer of MRN. Motion passed.

Resignation: David Haun, having been accepted as a student at Linn Technical College, submitted his resignation from membership on the MRN Board of Directors. The Board accepted David’s resignation and wished him well in his endeavors.

Stan Serck inquired about the MRN fiscal year and reported receiving $100 from Comfort Inn for a corporate sponsorship.

With the completion of necessary business, the Board gave its full attention to a presentation by Jana Hawley. Art Schneider had asked Ms. Hawley and her University class to look at MRN for the purpose of improving its presence on some of the major search engines.

Ms. Hawley talked as some length about the appearance of MRN (outdated), and how we might improve that appearance by switching to the "DreamweaverMX" software from Macro Media, which may have the graphics software (bundled with it?). She also explained that search engines look for the Title of pages and we could perhaps improve our hits some by re-titling our pages. Search engines also look for key words on the pages, some of which are robot captured, and some human directed.

Ms. Hawley also suggested we create and post a "Site Map" on MRN.

Ms. Hawley said that the University offers a half-day class on Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photo Shop, and other Web Page design software.

Finally, before adjournment, Art Schneider again thanked David Haun for his service to MRN as a Board Member and also made a motion that the Board formally express its thanks and appreciation to him.

No further business appearing, meeting was adjourned.
